The global 50 pursue opportunities

Some are the largest in their fields. Kordsa Global is the largest nylon, polyester yarn and tyre cord producer in the world. Efes Breweries International is the fifth largest beer producer in Europe and the twelfth largest worldwide. In Britain, Beko PLC is the market leader in refrigerators, freezers and cookers and the second in the overall white goods market. Over the last four years, Capital has followed the performance of Turkish companies abroad more closely than anyone else. This year it has demonstrated the strength of the Turkish business community in the global arena through its survey "The 50 Largest Turkish Companies abroad".

HOW WAS THE SURVEY CONDUCTED?
The survey of the largest Turkish companies abroad was prepared on the basis of companies which have their headquarters abroad. These companies were ranked according to the size of their turnover in 2010. The large contracting, infrastructure and construction companies which are almost entirely active abroad and which earn almost all of their income from activities abroad but which have their headquarters in Turkey were not included in the rankings. Some companies and groups, such as Yıldız Holding, the Zorlu Group and Yaşar Holding, whose size would have enabled them to be ranked in this list, could not be included because they did not provide any data.
